Jones County Veterans Service Center moving to Ellisville

Covington County looking into pair of drive-by shootings
SUMMARY: The Covington County Sheriff's Department is investigating two separate drive-by shootings, one in February and the other on June 2. No one was injured in either incident, but some suspects were young teens. Sheriff Daryl Perkins is working with the DA's office to potentially charge these juveniles as adults. The June 2 incident involved four suspects firing into a home on Gray McGee Lane. Authorities also continue to search for 27-year-old Eric Barnes, a suspect in the February shooting on Joe Booth Road. Barnes, who is out on a $100,000 bond for a 2022 drive-by shooting, has not yet turned himself in.
