FTC votes to ban non-compete agreements
SUMMARY: The Federal Trade Commission has voted to ban US employers from forcing employees to sign non-compete agreements, which prevent workers from changing jobs. Approximately 30 million people are affected by these agreements. There may be legal pushback from corporate companies that could delay enforcement of the rule. Mississippi College School of Law Professor Matt Steffey believes employers could delay enforcement by seeking a friendly judge to issue a nationwide injunction. Non-compete agreements are not limited to corporate jobs, with examples of daycare workers and housekeepers being affected. The FTC estimates that banning non-compete agreements would increase wages and competition in the workforce.

SUMMARY: East Central's upcoming summer camp, Kids College, offers a variety of activities for children from 1st through 8th grade.
