U.S. Attorney’s Office hosts United Against Hate Program on the Gulf Coast
SUMMARY: The US attorney's southern district office in South Mississippi is hosting a program called United Against Hate to encourage people to report hate crimes. The program aims to connect community groups with law enforcement to fight against hate crimes, with the goal of building trust and making people feel more comfortable reporting such incidents. Many individuals are afraid of retaliation or uncomfortable reporting hate crimes, but the program offers a safe avenue for reporting either by calling a specific number or online. Through this initiative, organizers hope to combat hate crimes and create a safer community.
Organizers hope that through the program, more people will feel comfortable working with officials to report hate crimes.
