Columbus schools may see needed upgrades with bond issue
SUMMARY: The Columbus School District is seeking approval from voters for a 36 million-dollar bond issue to upgrade its schools. The district has identified safety, security, and space issues that need to be addressed, such as improving fire safety systems, enhancing security, and adding additional facilities like gyms. The bond would also fund projects like upgrading bathrooms and repaving parking lots. School officials believe that these upgrades will not only benefit the students but also have a positive impact on the entire community. The bond referendum is scheduled for May 14th and requires a 60 percent majority to pass.
