Four Hinds County districts receive $1 million each for road improvements

SUMMARY: Four out of five districts received $1 million each to improve street conditions. Districts one, two, three, and four plan to repave streets, perform maintenance, and overall enhance road conditions using the funds. The funds from the American Rescue Plan, and road work is expected to start once weather conditions improve. Hinds County supervisors expressed the importance of providing quality work to address complaints about road conditions and ensure the longevity of the improvements. The paving season typically lasts from April or May to early November, depending on weather conditions, with District 5 also receiving its $1 million in 2023.
