Moss Point parents arrested, charged with child abuse
SUMMARY: Two parents in Moss Point were arrested after an investigation into the neglect and malnourishment of their two-month-old infant. The investigation began when a babysitter brought the infant to the hospital due to signs of neglect. Moss Point Police Chief Brandon Ashley stated that five other children in the home also showed signs of malnourishment and neglect. The couple, Christina Kay Hanshew and Adam Robert Shores, are facing charges related to the care of their children. Authorities are continuing to investigate the case to ensure the safety and well-being of all the children involved.
On Thursday, both 23-year-old Christina Kay Hanshew and 28-year-old Adam Robert Shores made appearances in court for multiple charges of child abuse.

HAPPENING TONIGHT: Taste of Ocean Springs Food & Wine festival
SUMMARY: The city of Discovery in Jackson County Ocean Springs is hosting the Taste of Ocean Springs Food and Wine Festival, with restaurants setting up booths at the l&n Depot for people to sample delicious treats. The festival is happening tonight from 6-8:30 p.m. Tickets are required for entry. In addition, Cruisin on the Coast, voted the best car event in the country, recently won USA Today's 10 Best Reader Choice Awards for 2024. The event, which started in 1996 with 374 vintage vehicles, broke records in 2023 with over 10,000 registered cruisers from 45 states, Canada, England, and Germany. The award is seen as a testament to the hard work put in over the years.
The Taste of Ocean Springs Food and Wine Festival is happening Thursday night at the L&N Depot.
