LPD looking for suspects in two, recent shootings
SUMMARY: Laurel police are searching for 20-year-old Daniel Elkins Jr. after a shooting at South Park Village on Johnson Circle. Officers responded to a shots-fired call where a dispute between two brothers resulted in one being shot in the leg with an AK-47. The victim was taken to South Central Regional Medical Center. Elkins will face domestic aggravated assault charges. Additionally, police are investigating a separate shooting from early yesterday morning near Victoria Avenue and East 7th Street. Shots fired at a car heading back to AMC Farms injured one person, who has since been released. Police are still searching for the suspect.

Jones County economic leader: Expansion of Laurel business a good sign

Camp Shelby training unit welcomes new senior non-commissioned officer
