SUMMARY: A storm chase group traveled from Winnie, TX into the Concho Valley, experiencing very hot air and limited moisture. The storm they encountered was not tornado-producing but had a nice structure. One student captured an image of the storm showing rain, hail, an anvil, and a flanking line. The storm produced wind gusts of around 35 mph and hailstones of pea to dime size. Additionally, the storm produced an incredible double rainbow, with the “extra” rainbow appearing as the reverse of the brighter rainbow due to the prism effect.

On Friday, there will be scattered showers with a 60% chance of rain as moisture builds from the west. High temperatures will remain in the 80s with overnight lows in the mid 60s.
