Former Diamondhead city councilman pleads guilty to sex crimes against minor
SUMMARY: Former Diamondhead city councilman, Alan Moran, aged 36, pleaded guilty to solicitation/exploitation of a minor and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. This follows an incident where Moran inappropriately approached a 17-year-old male employee during a work trip on February 14, 2022. The minor reported feeling uncomfortable after Moran encouraged sexual activity and tried to touch him. Moran, having purchased alcohol for the minor, was later apprehended by the teen's parents and police, leading to his arrest and charges. He is due for sentencing on February 16, with two charges dropped from the initial indictment.
