Gulfport High School students bring leg prosthetics to Peruvians
SUMMARY: Gulfport High School's robotic students spent over a year creating prosthetic legs for people in Peru. They 3D printed over 30 pieces, cleaned and packaged them, and then traveled to Peru to fully assemble and fit the prosthetics to the amputees. They interviewed the amputees, learning their stories and gaining perspective on their own lives. Thanks to the program, the students were able to witness the impact of their work as people took their first steps in years. The Gulfport robotics team thanked Harbor Freight Tools for Schools for their support in getting the students to Peru.
