Boil Water Notice Lifted
SUMMARY: The city of Jackson's boil water alert has been lifted after new results showed no E. coli bacteria in the water. The original tests were likely false positives, according to the third-party administrator for JXN Water. State officials claim the public health laboratory followed all protocols and procedures and do not believe there were false positives or contaminated samples. However, the boil water alert remains in effect for the city of Flowood. The announcement comes a day after the alert was issued for both Jackson and Flowood by the health department. If convicted, the individual involved could face a maximum penalty of thirty years in prison.
