Suspect charged with arson while in the Lowndes County Detention Center
SUMMARY: A man sitting in Lowndes County Adult Detention Center on shoplifting charges has been charged with arson for allegedly burning down a house in New Hope. The home was engulfed in flames and witnesses say the man was arguing with a resident and threatened to “burn the house down.” He was then accused of setting the house on fire. The man has a long criminal history and has been arrested 29 times with 63 different charges. He was also recently arrested for shoplifting.

Mississippi couple charged in death of 5-month-old
SUMMARY: A Biloxi couple was arrested for the death of their five-month-old child. Police responded to Merit Health Biloxi on June 13 and found that 20-year-old Summer Rose Hill and 21-year-old Takavian Keivon Gibbs had brought their deceased child to the emergency room. Medical staff discovered multiple injuries consistent with abuse. Both Hill and Gibbs were charged with child abuse and received a $500,000 bond each. They are to be booked into the Harrison County Adult Detention Center. The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may follow. Information can be reported to the Biloxi Police Department.
