Pearl woman given life without parole in death of infant daughter

SUMMARY: Makaylia Jolley pleaded guilty to killing her infant daughter in Pearl, Mississippi and was to in prison without parole. Jolley had been charged with capital murder after throwing her baby on the road, causing severe injuries. The child later died in the hospital. Jolley's mental evaluation showed she was competent at the time of the incident. She will be transferred to the Mississippi Department of Corrections from the Rankin County Jail.
