Driver charged with DUI after crash with train in Ocean Springs
SUMMARY: One man is facing charges this morning after allegedly driving down a train track and being struck by a train. The incident happened in Ocean Springs yesterday morning. Officials say the driver is lucky to be alive. Brandon Whittington is charged with driving under the influence and leaving the scene. The incident happened near Martin Luther King Junior Avenue and Railroad Street. Witnesses say Whittington appeared to turn off the road and drive down the railroad tracks. Police say he was able to escape the vehicle before the train collided with it.
Brandon Wayne Whittington, 31, is charged with driving under the influence-1st offense, and leaving the scene of an accident.
