New Mississippi superintendent of education won’t be named until December

William Carey freshman set to compete in 2024 Summer Olympics

6 Mississippi college football figures considered for Hall of Fame induction

State hospital employee arrested for murder after patient dies
SUMMARY: Keshawn Carpenter, a direct care worker at East Mississippi State Hospital in Meridian, Mississippi, has been arrested and charged with murder following the death of a patient. The arrest was made by the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation. The patient, identified as Christopher Hamilton, required emergency care on May 31 and subsequently died on June 2.
