Often, one must rely on training and instinct to make critical calls on the spot, which can create an adrenaline rush and excitement. This rapid decision-making process is central to the role, contributing to the thrill and enjoyment of the job despite the inherent pressures.

Why We Report – Lucas Warren 11/24
SUMMARY: My favorite part of the job is discovering hidden stories, even in seemingly mundane events like a board of supervisors meeting. I believe that with a little extra effort, there’s always an interesting angle to uncover. For example, during college, I wrote about a vintage store, initially anticipated to be a simple feature. However, I learned that the 18-year-old owner was still in high school, revealing a much deeper narrative. Finding these layered stories truly excites me and fuels my passion for storytelling.
