Urging Moss Point residents to use tornado resources

Wiggins firefighter recovering after being pinned beneath fire engine
SUMMARY: Over the weekend in Wiggins, a fire engine accident left a firefighter pinned underneath the vehicle. The firefighter, responding to a wreck on Highway 26 near Bay Drive and SE Earl Road, was trapped when the truck flipped twice around 11:40 PM. Witnesses reported that the seatbelt likely prevented more severe injuries. Clayton Sharp, who heard the call on the radio and responded, described the scene as chaotic with equipment scattered. Fire Chief Steve Purvis said crews used the jaws of life to free the firefighter in about 10 minutes. The responder is recovering, and Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
A firefighter, who remains anonymous, was responding to an accident when the vehicle flipped, pinning them underneath.

Two 18-wheelers crash on I-10 W in Moss Point, all lanes blocked
