Mississippi Disaster Recovery Centers to operate under new hours beginning Saturday
Disaster Recovery Centers in portions of the state impacted by recent tornadoes will have new hours of operation beginning Saturday.
MEMA announced the closure of the Carroll County recovery center along with the updated hours of the remaining locations.
The new hours will be 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays and the centers will be closed on Sundays. The weekday hours will be 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

2 arrested, 2 wanted in shooting death of Jackson DJ
SUMMARY: Jackson police have arrested Malik Ray, 20, and Cortez George in connection to the shooting death of local DJ Anthony Davis, 23. The incident occurred near North State Street and Cedars of Lebanon Drive, involving gunfire between two vehicles. A black Chrysler 300 related to the shooting was recovered on January 30 at Autumn Place Apartments. Authorities are still searching for Martravious Douglas, 18, and Aidan Mayes, 18, who both have active warrants for capital murder. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Jackson Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS (8477).

Kids learn valuable lessons at Jr. Fire Academy in Monroe County
