Congress faces hard deadline to pass spending bill or face govt. shutdown
SUMMARY: Congress is facing a deadline to pass a spending bill or there will be a government shutdown, which would put many government operations on hold. However, people living in temporary housing provided by FEMA should not be affected and will still be able to stay in the shelter. The mayor of Amory, Mississippi reassured citizens that the funding for these housing units has been pre-approved and set aside, and should not be affected by a shutdown. Essential services would still continue in the event of a shutdown.
