Suspect arrested following active shooter situation at Howard Industries

One suspect is in custody following an active shooter situation at Howard Industries in Laurel.

According to The Laurel Leader-Call, Keith Hinton shot one person Friday morning before officers issued a BOLO on the suspect's 1986 gray GMC pickup truck. Hinton was later captured in Stone County.

Chief Tommy Cox of the Laurel Police Department told WDAM that the gunshot victim, who we now know as 57-year-old Dale Thornton, has been transferred to Forrest General Hospital. No other details on the victim's condition were provided.
