President Biden to visit Mississippi Delta following deadly tornadoes

President Joe Biden will be heading to Rolling Fork on Friday to assess the damage from last week's severe storms and tornadoes, which left 21 dead and countless injured.

According to a press release from the White House, both Biden and First Lady Jill Biden will “visit with first responders, state and local officials, and communities impacted by the devastation.”

The National Weather Service released that seven tornadoes touched down in the Magnolia State over the weekend, with one EF-4 tornado traveling through Rolling Fork.

Nearly 2,000 homes in 12 counties received damage ranging from minimal to destroyed, with residents in Monroe County receiving the majority of the destruction from two EF-3 tornadoes. In Sharkey County, an estimated 255 homes were damaged by the storms with 13 fatalities.

“The loss will be felt in these towns forever. Please pray for God's hand to be over all who lost family and friends,” Reeves tweeted over the weekend…

Houston police search for park vandals

SUMMARY: The Joe Brigance Memorial Park in Houston was vandalized by at least two individuals with the nicknames “Spooky” and “Draco.” The Houston Police Department is looking for the culprits responsible for tagging most of the playground equipment with a paint marker. The park is located across from Houston High School and authorities are urging anyone with information to contact them. The police want those responsible to clean up their mess and are seeking community assistance in identifying the vandals. Images of the vandalism were shared on social media in hopes of generating leads.

Mississippi lawmakers running out of time to pass Medicaid expansion

Jackson man accused of killing mother in shooting
