Gov. Reeves vows to sign postpartum Medicaid extension into law if passed by legislature

Governor Tate Reeves is vowing to sign postpartum extension into if passed by the Mississippi .

In a Sunday afternoon Twitter post, Reeves argues that in order for Mississippi to be a better place to raise kids, lawmakers have to be willing to make “philosophically uncomfortable” decisions such as extending postpartum coverage from 60 days to 12 months.

“The legislature should pass a law continuing this 12 months of postpartum coverage…and if they do, I will sign it into law,” Reeves wrote.
