Flu cases in Mississippi are at levels not seen in more than a decade, and medical officials are strongly recommending getting a flu shot to prevent catching the virus.

Mississippi doctors are reporting high numbers of patients with flu-like symptoms at a rate four times that of last year. But public health officials said the rising number of patients with flu-like symptoms hasn’t caused any hospital bed shortages to date.
