Here's where to get water in Jackson

The of and the Mississippi Rapid Response Coalition is distributing drinking and non-potable water amid the ongoing water crisis. The has yet to announce any of its distributions site. This post will be updated.

Mississippi Rapid Response Coalition is a coalition of community with a mission to rapid relief to communities in crisis in Mississippi.

The Jackson Municipal Airport Authority (JMAA) has also partnered with the City of Jackson to provide water to the Jackson community at Hawkins Field Airport on Tuesday, Aug. 30 and Sept. 13 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at 558 W. Ramp St.

Non-potable water, for cleaning, flushing:

The City of Jackson has brought in tankers to distribute non-potable water to in need. Residents are asked to bring a container – such as a garbage can or cooler – to store the water. The tankers are located at Forest Hill High School at 2607 Raymond Road and at the MetroCenter at 3645 Highway 80

Non-potable water is not of drinking quality, but may still be used for other purposes, such as flushing toilets, washing clothes and cleaning.

Pearl River woman pleads guilty to stabbing tribal member

SUMMARY: Telinah Kowi Tek Farve, a woman from Pearl , pled guilty to assaulting a tribal member with a knife in the Pearl River Community of the Choctaw Indian Reservation. Court documents show that in 2023, she stabbed the tribal member, causing serious bodily injury. Farve was indicted by a federal grand jury and pled guilty to assault resulting in serious bodily injury. She is to be on August 6, 2024, facing a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. The Choctaw Department and the FBI investigated the case, and a federal district judge will determine her sentence based on sentencing guidelines and other factors.

HOA president speaks after shots fired into Brandon home

SUMMARY: Brandon are searching for two suspects who fired multiple shots into a home in the 100 block of Faith Way. No one was inside the home at the time of the shooting. Homeowners Association President Ben Luther expressed shock at the incident, stating it was unprecedented in the neighborhood. Surveillance shows two individuals approaching the home and firing shots. Police urge anyone with information to contact them. Luther emphasized that the shooting does not define the community and hopes it is not how people perceive them. are asked to keep those affected in their and prayers.

CPD makes Aggravated Domestic Violence arrest

SUMMARY: On April 27th, Columbus responded to a gunshot victim in the 800 block of North Lehmberg. Courtney Stewart Wiggly was for shooting her husband, Daryl Wiggly, who sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was flown to for treatment. Courtney is in custody at Lowndes County Adult Detention Center awaiting her Initial Appearance. The incident is being investigated as aggravated domestic violence.
