UMMC breaks ground on new nursing building
SUMMARY: The University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) has broken ground on a new School of Nursing building. The expansion, scheduled to open in 2026, will allow for a 25 percent increase in students. The project is being funded by $55 million in coronavirus state and local fiscal recovery funds, along with $12 million in funding from the Medical Center. The new building will feature classrooms, labs, faculty offices, and study spaces. UMMC’s School of Nursing has a long history and has produced countless graduates who have made a significant impact in the healthcare field.
