Thousands enjoying Richton’s 35th annual Mississippi Pecan Festival

SUMMARY: The Mississippi Pecan in Richton wrapped up on Sunday with thousands of people enjoying food, arts and crafts, and other activities. Sonya Adkins of Lucedale the festival for the first time and described it as amazing. Local musician Bobby Hathorn entertained festival attendees with his banjo playing. The festival different styles of music, country and bluegrass. Charles Herrington of reported on the festival and stated that it has been a tradition for 29 years. The Pecan Festival gates opened at 9 am.

Ceremony held for fallen police officers in north Mississippi
