SUMMARY: The city of Discovery in Jackson County Ocean Springs is hosting the Taste of Ocean Springs Food and Wine Festival, with restaurants setting up booths at the l&n Depot for people to sample delicious treats. The Lady Cougars initially took the lead but were denied by the lady Greyhounds. Despite loading the bases, Ocean Springs couldn't score. Northwest Frank's Brook Smith hit a two-run shot, extending their lead to six. They ultimately defeated Ocean Springs 11-2 in game one. The games are taking place outside of Jackson, with intense competition for both teams fighting for the title. The series will determine the South State champions in both baseball and softball.
