Friendships in the 21st century carry a different dynamic. A constant connection throughout the World Wide Web has its share of positives and negatives. Many spend more time looking at small screens and stupid that make no sense to me. My 21-year-old son finds them hilarious. There's that, but I also have a world of information at my fingertips. Three teens charged in shooting death of USM football player

Warren County mother found guilty in son’s death

SUMMARY: A Warren County mother, Brooke Mallett, was found guilty of manslaughter and child neglect related to the 2023 of her young son. Mallett and her then-boyfriend, John Duke Walker, were after the child's death in April 2023. Authorities were alerted by a about a five-year-old with special needs found alone. Deputies discovered Mallett was unaware of the child's absence and also found a missing three-year-old in a nearby pond, who was pronounced dead. Mallett faces up to 20 years for manslaughter and up to five years for each child neglect charge, with sentencing for June 27.

Jury indicts woman accused of hit and run in Oktibbeha County

SUMMARY: Destiny Mack was indicted by an Oktibbeha County grand jury for aggravated assault after allegedly a woman with a vehicle in November 2023 at the intersection of Blackjack and Blair Roads. Deputies found the victim lying on the road, and witnesses reported that the vehicle struck the victim and drove away. Investigators disclosed that Mack and the victim were acquainted.
