Polo Trial Week Two
SUMMARY: The jury in the William Polo Edwards murder trial consists of seven men and five women. Prosecutors argued in their closing statements that Edwards shot Robert Davis nine times out of jealousy and addiction to another woman, Shadow Robertson. The defense pointed the finger at Robertson, claiming she was responsible for the shooting, but presented no evidence to support this. The defense also raised arguments to create reasonable doubt, questioning the lack of blood splatter on Edwards' clothes, cell phone call data, and why Robertson had the victim's cell phone in her closet. Edwards' wife testified that she separated from him after seeing photos of him with Robertson in Miami. Edwards is charged with first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a felon. The jury's decision is pending, and the judge may choose to have them deliberate further or reconvene the next day.
