Blitz Preview: Jackson Academy
SUMMARY: The Jackson Academy Raiders are set to make their 2023 debut in Week Zero of the M-A-I-S program. Head Coach Aubrey Blackwell is entering his second season with the team, and having a year under their belt is making a big difference. The senior leadership is prepared and ready to lead the team. Practice started early this year, which is different for Coach Blackwell coming from the AHSSA in Alabama. Despite the early start, the Raiders are a gritty bunch and ready to continue showing their determination. They are excited to have fans support them and start the season on a good note.

Three arrests made in Clay County homicide investigation
SUMMARY: Good evening, I'm Emily Leonard with WTV 9 News at 10. Tonight, we have an update on the Clay County murder case. Three men, Dedric Griffith, Aljan Tally, and Jalile Moy, have been arrested and charged with the murder of Ronald Bean, who was found shot and killed on Saturday near Clay Chickasaw County Line Road. Video footage shows Bean's car being towed away. Sheriff Eddie Scott reported that the incident began at SE's Club, a popular local hangout. The community is shaken by the event, with residents expressing shock and sadness over the tragedy.
Three arrests have been made following the discovery of a body in Clay County.

19 Mississippi cities getting grants for downtown makeover
SUMMARY: Main streets and downtown areas are central to small towns in Mississippi, serving as hubs for community activities. Many of these areas are undergoing revitalization with state funding. In Nettleton, an old barber shop on Young Avenue, a key road off Main Street, is being restored. The building, unused since 1980, dates back to the 1800s. With the Mississippi Main Street revitalization grant, the building will be refurbished to its original look and serve as a community space. Eight other cities in Northeast Mississippi also received funds for similar projects. This could be the first of many restorations in Nettleton.
There are 19 cities in Mississippi getting grants to give their downtown area a makeover, one of them Nettleton.

Stronger Together Foundation Tribal Movie
SUMMARY: The Stronger Together Foundation hosted a private screening and Q&A for the film “Tribal” at the MCC McCain Theater.
