Plans for the future revealed at Biloxi’s Breakfast with the Mayor event
SUMMARY: Gridlock and traffic slowdowns are causing problems in Harrison County, near the Mississippi-Alabama state line. Leaders in Biloxi are hoping to alleviate these issues through the widening and extension of Popp's Ferry Road. Mayor Fofo Gilich provided updates on the plan at a breakfast event, with Bill Snyder discussing the potential solutions. The South part of the road is particularly affected, with Biloxi resident Emily Burke discussing potholes south of the bridge on Popp's Ferry Road. The issue of gridlock and traffic is a pressing concern that leaders are working to address.
Mayor Gilich also talked about other Biloxi projects, including field turf upgrades at the AJ Holloway Sports complex.

Vancleave baseball preparing for first state title trip since 2018
SUMMARY: Happy Monday and welcome back! We're nearing the end of the 2024 High School athletic year with the baseball state championships starting this week. Representing the coast are the Van Cleave Bulldogs, who are making their first trip to Pearl since winning the 4A State title in 2018. They secured their spot by defeating South Jones for the South State title. Many Bulldog team members have played together since middle school, which they believe will contribute to their success. The team has strong chemistry and a winning mentality. Van Cleave plays Wednesday and Friday night, with the George County Rebels also competing.
It's the first trip back to Pearl for the Bulldogs since winning it all back in 2018 in the 4A title game.

Mar-Jac Poultry cited for illegally employing minors at company’s Alabama plant
