No new projects to receive Gulf Coast Restoration Funds this year
SUMMARY: State lawmakers have decided not to dedicate $30 million in Gulf Coast restoration funds to projects this year, despite receiving over a hundred applications. The Gulf Coast Advisory Board received 108 applications this year, totaling $210 million in requests, but only 22 projects worth $100 million were selected. State Senator Scott Delano stated that a pause was necessary to evaluate and improve the process for selecting transformational projects.
