Pair of MSMS seniors among top students nationwide

SUMMARY: Two seniors from Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science, Noah Curtis Lee and Iris Jiani Xue, have been named among the top students in the country as Presidential Scholars by the U.S. Department of Education. They were chosen for their achievements in academics, arts, and career and technical education. This year, 161 high school seniors nationwide were recognized, with more than 5,700 qualifying based on SAT and ACT scores. Lee and Xue, originally from Southaven, will be honored at an online recognition program this summer. Their accomplishments showcase the excellence of Mississippi students on a national level.

Walker collected funds from students and staff for items like senior dues, athletic uniforms, and fundraisers, but failed to properly document and deposit these funds. Sentencing is scheduled for August 13, 2024. Suspected fraud can be reported to the State Auditor's Office online or by phone.

Mississippi State outfielder Dakota Jordan wins Ferriss Trophy
