Nick McLendon sworn in as Pearl’s police chief
SUMMARY: Nick McLendon was sworn in as the new police chief for the City of Pearl by Mayor Jake Windham on March 5. McLendon began his career as a reserve officer in Pearl in 2004 and moved to Richland in 2008, where he was promoted to lieutenant in 2012 and captain in 2016. He took over as Police Chief of Richland in February 2022 after Chief Russel James retired. McLendon replaces former Pearl Police Chief Dean Scott, who resigned in January 2024. City officials expressed excitement for this new chapter in the Police Department and community.

Record travel expected this Memorial Day weekend
