MSDH administrative hold impacts medical marijuana industry
SUMMARY: The Mississippi State Department of Health placed an administrative hold on medical marijuana products, impacting businesses in the state. Rapid Analytics in Natchez, which tests about 70% of the state's medical marijuana products, had the hold placed on them due to allegations of improper procedures for pesticides. The executive director of the Mississippi Independent Cannabis Association, Mike Watkins, believes it will take several weeks to resolve the issue, as a large amount of products need to be retested and approved. This has caused problems for businesses and raises concerns about discrepancies between testing labs.
