MS boy gets probation, must write report on Kobe Bryant, for public urination
SUMMARY: A 10-year-old boy was taken to jail in Mississippi for urinating in public and has been sentenced to three months probation and to write a two-page report on Kobe Bryant. The incident took place in a parking lot across from the Tate County Courthouse, where the child urinated near his mother's car. The police chief deemed it a mistake in police judgment and the family has retained an attorney, leading to community calls for police accountability. The police officer involved is no longer with the department, and the child was not handcuffed when taken to the police station.

Hatley students host living wax museum of famous Mississippians
SUMMARY: Fourth graders at Hatley School in Mississippi spent nine weeks researching famous Mississippians and brought their research to life in a wax museum. The students portrayed different Mississippi natives like Jimmy Buffett, B.B. King, and Britney Spears, sharing stories of their lives and careers. The teachers behind the project hoped to inspire the children to see that hard work and dedication can lead to success, despite their Mississippi roots. The students learned valuable lessons from the project, such as perseverance and never giving up, as they embodied their chosen famous Mississippians in the spotlight.
