Mississippi lt. governor candidates discuss Medicaid
SUMMARY: Only one of the Republican candidates for Lieutenant Governor believes that expanding Medicaid can save Mississippi's financially struggling hospitals. Delbert Hosemann supports starting with what is needed and funding to that, while Chris McDaniel believes that Medicaid expansion is not the answer and suggests other reforms such as eliminating certificate of need laws. Tiffany Longino agrees that there is a healthcare issue in the state and urges approval of the expansion. The candidates' differing views on Medicaid expansion reflect the ongoing debate on how to fix Mississippi's healthcare problems.
