SUMMARY: A new bill aims to legalize the sale and manufacture of wine and liquor in “dry” counties in Alabama, ending a prohibition-era law. This measure is intended to support tourism in smaller areas and bring conformity to the state's alcohol laws. It will affect around 30 counties in the state but won't change restrictions in place in other counties. The bill is headed to the Senate and, if passed, would take effect on January 1st, 2025.
