SUMMARY: The North Haven volunteer fire department in Union County is looking to provide storm shelters for their community to protect residents from tornadoes. After a tornado hit a nearby town leaving people without safe shelter, the fire department wants to prevent a similar situation in their area. JTRAN drivers still have gripes
SUMMARY: The managing company of Jay Tran buses assured riders that there would be no disruption in service, despite the possibility of a driver strike. Many riders depend on the bus service for their daily transportation needs and were relieved that buses were running on schedule. The Jay Tran employees' union has grievances against the management company, claiming drivers are overworked and penalized for calling in sick. The mayor has scheduled a meeting with the workers to address these issues and urged them to consider the impact on riders before taking any further actions.
