MDOT begins work on $19M project on Highway 82
SUMMARY: The Mississippi Department of Transportation has started a $19 million project to enhance safety and overlay a section of US Highway 82 in Lowndes County. The project includes curve reconstruction, ramp lengthening, sign enhancement, and pavement mill and overlay. During construction, lanes will be reduced to one in each direction, causing traffic delays. The project is expected to be completed by summer 2024. Falcon Contracting, a local firm, is handling the construction. Motorists should take precautions and be aware of crews on the road.
