Litter awareness month promotes city beautification
SUMMARY: Cities are taking part in litter awareness month, encouraging people to notice and pick up litter throughout April. In Meridian, updated ordinances aim to prevent littering with fines starting at $500 and potential community service or jail time for repeat offenders. If someone witnesses littering, they can report it to the police by filling out an affidavit and providing evidence. The community must work together to ensure that litter bugs face consequences for their actions. It is important for everyone to play their part in keeping the city clean by picking up trash they see.
