Justice Department finds violations at three Mississippi prisons
SUMMARY: The Justice Department's Civil Rights Division will hold a news conference on February 28 to address violations at three Mississippi Department of Corrections facilities. These violations are said to violate the 8th and 14th Amendments of the U.S. Constitution. The 60-page report concluded findings from investigations at the Central Mississippi Correctional Facility, South Mississippi Correctional Institution, and Wilkinson County Correctional Facility. CPD makes Aggravated Domestic Violence arrest
SUMMARY: On April 27th, Columbus Police responded to a gunshot victim in the 800 block of North Lehmberg. Courtney Stewart Wiggly was arrested for shooting her husband, Daryl Wiggly, who sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was flown to Jackson for treatment. Courtney is in custody at Lowndes County Adult Detention Center awaiting her Initial Appearance. The incident is being investigated as aggravated domestic violence.
