Judge dismisses Supervisor David Archie’s lawsuit challenging election loss
SUMMARY: Special Judge Barry Ford has dismissed Archie's lawsuit against the county and Democratic Party officials regarding his election loss. The lawsuit was dismissed with judicial prejudice as Archie filed his petition outside of the 10-day filing period. Archie's attorney argued that the circuit clerk's office being closed for half a day prevented him from filing, but Ford stated that the cyber attack had nothing to do with a paper filing. Archie claims there was election fraud and corruption in his primary election loss. Jacqueline Amos, Chair of the Hinds County Democratic Executive Committee, emphasized the importance of fair elections and stated that they are looking forward to the November elections. Archie's attorney plans to file a notice of appeal with the Mississippi Supreme Court.

SUMMARY: The weather is beautiful with temperatures in the 80s across the region. Severe weather is happening in West Texas with tornadoes reported, but it won't impact the area. Temperatures will fall to the 70s in the evening with no expected problems. Clouds will increase throughout the day tomorrow with a chance of pop-up showers in the evening. Rain chances will increase on Friday but the weekend should mostly stay dry with a small chance of showers. Humidity will increase over the weekend and temperatures will rise into the 90s next week. SUMMARY: Two new art exhibits are now open at Hattisburg Sanger theater.
