Judge dismisses Archie’s lawsuit
SUMMARY: Hinds County Supervisor David Archie's efforts to get a new election after losing in the August primary have been dealt another blow. A judge dismissed Archie's lawsuit against the Hinds County Democratic Executive Committee, citing that the lawsuit was not filed within ten days of the election, as required by the statute. The judge ruled that the courthouse was open and Archie did not exhaust all his options to get the suit filed in time. Despite the ruling, Archie plans to take the case to the Mississippi Supreme Court. Democratic nominee Anthony Smith feels relieved as he prepares for the general election.

SUMMARY: The weather is beautiful with temperatures in the 80s across the region. Severe weather is happening in West Texas with tornadoes reported, but it won't impact the area. Temperatures will fall to the 70s in the evening with no expected problems. Clouds will increase throughout the day tomorrow with a chance of pop-up showers in the evening. Rain chances will increase on Friday but the weekend should mostly stay dry with a small chance of showers. Humidity will increase over the weekend and temperatures will rise into the 90s next week. Updates on renovations at Green Coliseum are expected soon.

SUMMARY: Two new art exhibits are now open at Hattisburg Sanger theater. The first exhibit features a collection of painted violins called “First and Second” inside the theater, with two dozen instruments showcasing the work of different artists with a roaring 20s theme. The exhibit serves as a prelude to this year's Festival South. The second exhibit, “Say Cheese”, at the pocket Museum, focuses on photography with photographs from around the world and classic cameras on display. Both exhibits will be open through the end of the month, offering a variety of artistic inspiration for visitors to enjoy.
