Jackson woman killed in crash on Highway 18
SUMMARY: A fatal crash occurred just after 9 pm on Thursday night on Highway 18 East near Midway Road. Cassandria Brown, 60, was traveling east on Highway 18 when the vehicle she was in ran off the road, hit an embankment and a tree. Brown tragically died at the scene of the accident. The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.

Safer Act bill is headed to the Governor's desk
SUMMARY: The bill banning transgender individuals from using bathrooms or dressing areas that do not match their sex assigned at birth has passed the House and Senate as Senate Bill 27-53, also known as the SAFER Act. Medical center honors its volunteers Thursday
SUMMARY: South Central Regional Medical Center recently held its annual volunteer awards ceremony and appreciation reception, where they honored 43 volunteers who collectively contributed over 7,000 hours of service. 'Stamp Out Hunger Day' set for May 11
SUMMARY: Christian Services is participating in the Stamp Out Hunger food drive to help feed those in need in the community. They provide food boxes to families in the Pine Belt region and rely on donations of non-perishable and canned items from the community. The National Association of letter carriers sponsors the national Stamp Out Hunger day every second Saturday in May to help fight hunger.
