SUMMARY: Jackson State University's baseball team has a standout player in junior college transfer Joseph Eichelberger. Eichelberger is leading the country in batting average, on-base percentage, and hits. He credits his success to offseason work with coaches and pre-game prayer and meditation. Eichelberger aims to be a leader on the team and help them win the SWAC championship. With a record of nine wins and three losses, the team is set to play in Memphis this weekend. Eichelberger's father is a preacher, and his strong work ethic and dedication make him a valuable asset to the team.

The best hitter in the country right now is Jackson State Tiger. Joseph Eichelberger is leading all of the NCAA in batting average and on base percentage. The JUCO transfer says prayer, meditation and working on the pitches he struggled with in the off-season has led to this hot start. The Tigers are benefitting as they are off to a 10-3 start to the year as well.
