Jackson police fellowship with community members on Resurrection Sunday
SUMMARY: The George Town community in Jackson, Mississippi, held their annual spring cookout with support from the local police department. In addition to celebrating Easter Sunday, community members enjoyed food, music, and socializing. This year, the Jackson Police Chief Joseph Wade and precinct captains attended to support the community and discuss ways to address violence and neighborhood conflicts. Chief Wade emphasized the importance of meeting and supporting residents to promote a better way of life than a life of crime. The event was seen as a positive step towards making the city a better place.

SUMMARY: The weather is beautiful with temperatures in the 80s across the region. Severe weather is happening in West Texas with tornadoes reported, but it won't impact the area. Temperatures will fall to the 70s in the evening with no expected problems. Clouds will increase throughout the day tomorrow with a chance of pop-up showers in the evening. Rain chances will increase on Friday but the weekend should mostly stay dry with a small chance of showers. Humidity will increase over the weekend and temperatures will rise into the 90s next week. Updates on renovations at Green Coliseum are expected soon.

SUMMARY: Two new art exhibits are now open at Hattisburg Sanger theater. The first exhibit features a collection of painted violins called “First and Second” inside the theater, with two dozen instruments showcasing the work of different artists with a roaring 20s theme. The exhibit serves as a prelude to this year's Festival South. The second exhibit, “Say Cheese”, at the pocket Museum, focuses on photography with photographs from around the world and classic cameras on display. Both exhibits will be open through the end of the month, offering a variety of artistic inspiration for visitors to enjoy.
