Itawamba County moving ahead with court plans after devastating fire

SUMMARY: The old Itawamba County Justice Court building in Fulton, Mississippi was destroyed by a fire earlier this month. However, county officials are already making plans to restart court proceedings. The court has temporarily relocated to the Itawamba County Development Council building in downtown Fulton. The courtroom will be in the City Hall in Fulton until a new justice court building is constructed near the recently opened jail. Court officials have received help from other counties to recreate court forms and documents. Court proceedings will resume in August, and digital court records are still accessible.

New Houlka is increasing its water and sewer rates
