IMMS releases sea turtles, excavates hatchlings in Pass Christian

SUMMARY: The Institute for Marine Mammal Studies (IMMS) released four rehabilitated Kemp's ridley sea turtles into the Mississippi Sound. Two of the turtles were brought from New England to be treated for freeze shock, while the other two were caught by fishermen on the Mississippi Coast. In addition, IMMS excavated a nest of turtles that had hatched on a beach. They recovered 12 hatchlings out of a total of 84 eggs, with the odds of one of the hatchlings surviving to adulthood being slim. The hatchlings were guided into the by IMMS workers.

Former Bayou Academy principal to spend 30 years in prison for inappropriately videotaping minors

The recordings spanned over six years, and Aycock pled guilty to two counts of attempted production of child exploitative material. his prison term, he will undergo five years of supervised release, pay restitution to victims, and be registered as a sex offender. The 's cyber division and the Bolivar County Sheriff's Department led the investigation, and U.S. District Court Judge Michael P. Mills finalized the sentence.
