Idalia and Katrina 18 years later
SUMMARY: The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) is preparing to respond to a storm that is causing severe damage in Florida. After experiencing past storms, such as Hurricane Katrina 18 years ago, MEMA has learned valuable lessons and is now on standby to provide assistance in the recovery effort. At the Salvation Army warehouse in Jackson, workers are busy loading containers with essential cleaning supplies onto a truck, which will be sent to the victims affected by Hurricane Idalia. This time of the year is typically busy for the state, and MEMA is ready to help if needed.
